Moduline - Introduction
Moduline is an attractive, high quality handrail and balustrade system, exclusive to Laidlaw, that can be assembled easily on site by builders, shopfitters and 'fit-out' specialists from standard components, with minimal cutting to fit. And, because Moduline is not assembled in the factory, considerable cost savings can be achieved.
Options for obtaining the components
Even when you install the system yourself, there are a number of options for obtaining the necessary components:
- Order all the components from our network of Sales Offices (see How to order below). You will need to cut rails and uprights to length and drill them for certain fixings when you install.
- Supply us with your architect's drawings and our specialists will determine your component requirements and arrange for them to be delivered to site when required. You will need to cut and drill a little when you install (as in 1).
- Supply us with the key dimensions indicated on the diagrams below and our specialists will create the necessary production drawings for the components to be cut and drilled in our factory, making your installation even easier.
- Book a site survey with our surveyors and we will take accurate dimensions to enable us to either deliver your required set of components (as in 2), or prepare finished components, cut and drilled as necessary (as in 3).
The cost of Laidlaw providing the services described in options 3 to 4 will depend on the size of the project and, in the case of option 4, its location.

Features of the system
The system has the same basic strength and quality of finish as other Laidlaw handrail and balustrade systems, but with the components fixed together using a mixture of screw studs and Allen key sockets. Handrails or balustrade top rails, like the other Laidlaw systems, can be in:
- Brushed stainless steel
- Nylon-coated steel or
- Solid timber
- Handrail supports, uprights, upright fixings and balustrade mid-rails are in brushed stainless steel of 316 marine grade. Solid timber rails use brushed stainless steel connectors to join lengths of rail and to change direction.
Balustrade infill panels (either glass or opaque) can be used instead of mid-rails, if required. These need to be ordered as specials.
How to order - Option 1
All the components illustrated on the Component pages are listed on the Order Form, which should then be posted or faxed to your nearest Laidlaw Sales Office for processing. The postal addresses and fax numbers of these offices are shown on the back page. If you have downloaded the form electronically, you may add your order to the form and return to Laidlaw by e-mail as an attachment.
