The Bermondsey Square hotel has been described as stylish and chic and ‘the hottest new addition to London’s coolest boutique hotel scene’. Owned by Bespoke Hotels, it has 79 designer bedrooms, including a series of loft rooms overlooking London's skyline. It stands as the centre point of the revitalised Square, and was the subject of years of planning and months of preparation.
To add flair to stairway design, Laidlaw’s Handrail system in Brushed Stainless Steel was installed, line side fixed with clear, toughened glass infill panels to maximize use of natural light. The neat detailing around returns is bespoke to the architect’s specification and illustrates the perfect combination of style and functionality.
Glen Morris, Contracts Manager for E E Smith commented, “There were several factors which influenced use of Laidlaw systems for this project. The Integra Doorset system offered practical benefits from the perspective of both installation and performance. With doors being such a regular cause of premature repair and replacement in hotels, a system using factory finished metal frames had obvious advantages. The Stainless Steel Handrail system is practical and stylish, enabling the maximum amount of natural light to be brought into stairwells while requiring the minimum of maintenance”.Click on an image for more info
