Laidlaw Liverpool secures major Timber Door project with Kier

Laidlaw Liverpool have secured the order for Timber Doors and Access Control for Carmel College worth over £300,000.The college has approx 1,600 students and it was essential that the works and the college be separated. Works included the careful demolition of the existng building, establishment of 15 temporary classrooms, and associated site works and services.

The ambitious scheme to replace 80% of the existing building , will see a total investment of in excess of thirty million pounds and will transform Carmel College into truly outstanding and inspiring place of learning. Phase one of the project represents twenty two million pounds worth of investment. In Spring 2009 the new Centre for Art and Design was completed. In August 2009, the colleges main teaching block was completed, providing outstanding facilities for the Sciences, Law,I.C.T,Philosophy and Religion , History, Geography, English, Sociology, Psychology, Modern Languages and Essential Skills. The final building in Phase has recently opened at the start of the new academic 2010 year. The new buildings will be complimented by the careful landscaping of the College grounds. A central college Courtyard will be planted up making the best possible use of the space to provide students, staff and visitors with a pleasant outdoor area in which to work and relax.
