Laidlaw - Accreditations

As the leading product and service provider in its sector Laidlaw gives high priority to ensuring it conforms with all relevant and necessary accreditations and standards.

Guild of Architectural Ironmongers

Laidlaw is a member of the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) and employs over 100 GAI qualified staff.

The GAI is Britain’s only trade body solely dedicated to promoting the interests of the whole architectural ironmongery business – architectural ironmongers themselves, and the manufacturers and wholesalers of architectural ironmongery products.

At the heart of the Guild’s activities is their highly respected educational programme. The three-year Diploma course is the qualification for architectural ironmongers. Of the 2000+ diploma-holders, hundreds have taken their education further, achieving Registered Architectural Ironmonger (Reg AI) status, proving their commitment, expertise and professionalism.

Buildoffsite

Buildoffsite logo

Laidlaw is a member of Buildoffsite, an industry-wide campaigning organisation that promotes greater uptake of offsite techniques by UK construction.  It is an alliance of clients, developers, designers, contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, government, advisors and researchers. The challenges facing UK construction are well known. A combination of growing demand, coupled with poor quality and a reducing skills base, has created a dilemma that will not be resolved without a "step change" in productivity and quality of build. The use of offsite techniques offers a potential solution to this dilemma. Buildoffsite has been set up to promote this option and Laidlaw is a proud supporter of the organisation's objectives.
