Case Study - Queen Elizabeth Hospital
Project: Surgical Treatment Centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead
Client: Gateshead Health NHS Trust
Design team: Ryder HKS
Contractor: AMEC Construction
This was the first time we've used Laidlaw and they gave us a first class service. The products were all well made, administration and deliveries were efficient, the joiners were delighted with the ease of handling, and absolutely no problems have been reported since installation. I can't fault the Orbis Timber Doors system and we'll definitely use Laidlaw again.

A precise operation for Laidlaw at Queen Elizabeth Hospital
The new North East Surgical Treatment Centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead was the largest health project of its kind in the area when it was commenced.
Laidlaw were delighted to be awarded the contract to supply a complete internal doorset and ironmongery system for the building. This prestigious order involved the delivery of 336 Orbis Timber Doorsets comprising Steamed Beech doors with primed softwood frames, featuring a crown cut veneer to give an attractive and carefully balanced pattern across the width of the door. The doorsets were complemented by Orbis 8 SA7 ironmongery in a Silk Anodised Aluminium finish to add to the almost futuristic look of this new venture for the Gateshead Health NHS Trust.
As hygiene is such an important consideration in hospitals, our remit also included the supply of 52 postformed doors and frames for clinical areas that are subjected to heavy use by staff, patients and visitors alike.
